Lending a Hand
MAJOR FOCUS:
1) Impacting Food Insecurity.
2) Supporting children and families in our community.
We are a mission focused church that continues to do all we can to lovingly reach out those communities in need. We find that by working alongside others we learn, grow, and gain a better understanding of what it means to be joyful, live with integrity, and be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Joppa Outreach
Joppa Outreach has a mission to create communities of unconditional love, support and hope for the homeless, as we work together to prevent and ultimately end homelessness.
Each month a group of volunteers from Windsor UMC help deliver essential goods to those who are houseless or living on the streets of Greater Des Moines. You can join the effort by contacting Pastor Jon Bailey [ pastorjon@thewindsorumc.com ] or by donating items to be delivered: batteries, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, flash lights, and candles.
More information about Joppa Outreach can be found at: https://www.joppa.org/
Windsor Elementary School
Windsor Elementary School is our neighborhood school. We have long held the importance of quality education as a standard to utilize the gifts God has given us. We support Windsor Elementary by providing snacks and food to keep their young minds going throughout the day and by participating in their yearly activities such as Family Fun Night and Read Across America "Power Read". These actions help us accomplish goals of impacting food insecurity and nurturing young minds.
DMARC Food Pantry Network
Each month we have a collection for unique items needed by the DMARC Food Pantry Network; everything from soup to peanut butter and jelly. We are serious about making an impact on food insecurity and we know can only do this with the help of others.

Midwest Missions
With the mission of bringing the hearts and hands of God's people together to transform resources into humanitarian relief, Midwest Missions continues to build vital relationships with areas around the globe so that when disaster strikes they have trusted contacts to help provide resources. Midwest Missions has two locations: Pawnee, Illinois and Jefferson, Iowa. Either by volunteering at one of locations or by collecting goods to be given before, during or after a disaster our church supports the efforts of Midwest Missions.

Women at the Well is a United Methodist congregation which is located within the walls of the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women, in Mitchellville, Iowa. They are a diverse community composed of women incarcerated at ICIW and many volunteers outside the walls who regularly support our ministries and programs.
