Windsor Advent Celebration
During the season of Advent, we were focused on celebrating Jesus’
birth. Jesus asks us to help those in need, any kind of need. As
Methodist we pledge to give our Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service and
Witness.
Here is what we as Windsor UMC accomplish in Advent?
We worshipped with others thru Worship services and bible studies. We shared our voices in a Cantata with others.
We hosted a bible study with Bishop Kennetha in one of your homes.
We participated in a group picture to share with the Saints at Home and purchased them poinsettias. You signed greeting cards and helped deliver these gifts to the Saints at Home. If you took a selfie picture we will share with the congregation later.
We shared meals with other: helping provide soup, bread, salads, or desserts for bible studies or Women of Faith gathering.
We provided cookies for services (Thanksgiving, Cocoa & Carols)
We provided the monies to purchase 6 full bags of groceries for Windsor School needy families - $30 groceries plus $15 nonperishables each and with extra funds, purchase food for the school food pantry.
We provided funds for Joppa plus 3 blankets, 1 sweatshirt and 47 pairs of socks. Brian Hurley deliver these items.
We provided to Windsor School: 6 sweatshirts, 17 pairs of gloves/mittens, 5 hats, 4 sweatpants, 17 socks, 106 underwear.
We provided Funds for Meals from the Heartland – we are to package meals later in January or February.
We helped Hang the Greens and undecorated the church for Advent.
We helped with Worship services: Pastor, Liturgist, readers, ushers, greeters, videoing, and fellowship.
It was a busy Advent, yet we worshiped together, celebrated Jesus’ birth and also helped those in need. Well done, Windsor!
